How to connect Risk Cloud with Slack to keep your team informed of Risk Cloud activities in real-time!
Keep your employees up-to-date on all Risk Cloud activities using our native Slack integration. This integration will allow you to send messages to Slack users and/or channels when Records are submitted, a due date is approaching, etc.. Slack messages can be added in the message section of any Job.
Adding Slack to Risk Cloud is simple, and can be accomplished in the following steps:
-
Enable and configure the LogicGate Risk Cloud integration into your Slack workspace.
-
Add the LogicGate Risk Cloud slack bot in any channels you will want to send messages in.
-
Use Risk Cloud Jobs to send Slack messages to specific users and/or channels. Slack messages can be added in the “messages'' tab of your Risk Cloud Jobs.
Adding the LogicGate Risk Cloud Integration into your Slack Workspace
While logged in to Risk Cloud with an admin account, navigate to the Admin > Integrations page. Once on this page, ensure that your Slack integration is marked as "enabled."
Once enabled, click Configure Integration and the following pop-up will appear:
After clicking Add to Slack you will be brought to a new webpage where Slack confirms the permissions that Risk Cloud is requesting. Risk Cloud's Slack integration requires the following permissions:
Click Allow and you will be redirected to the Admin > Integration page. To confirm that you set up the integration correctly you can click on Configure Integration again and your new connected workspace should appear. You have now connected Risk Cloud with Slack and we can move on to the next step!
Adding Risk Cloud's Slack Bot into your Slack Channels
Now that Risk Cloud is connected to your Slack workspace, you will be able to add the integration "bot" into your channels. To do this, go to a channel where you would like to send Risk Cloud notifications and type "@LogicGate" - you should see an option to add an "app" user. Once you have added this user to all channels where you would like to send Risk Cloud notifications we can continue to the final step.
Note: the name may be slightly different from "LogicGate Integration."
Add Slack Messages to your Jobs
In the final step we will be adding the recipients and message content that we want to send in Slack. Navigate to the Build > Jobs page, and select an existing Job you would like to add a Slack message to or create a new Job.
Once you have a Job selected, navigate to the "messages" tab and scroll to the bottom. You should see the following:
From here you can select the User Fields, Slack Users, and / or Slack Channels that will be sent a message whenever your Job triggers. You can also create Contextual Notifications by adding Field variables to your Slack message. The Field variables will populate with the Field values specific to the triggering Record. You can add Custom and System Fields, as well as Fields from Linked Workflows.
In my example Job below, I am alerting "Jacob McSanta" about a risk assessment being completed. The message will appear in Slack with a direct link to the record, as shown below and include the name of the most recent linked Incident for the primary Task Record.
You have now fully configured your integration, and a Slack message will be sent every time your Risk Cloud Job is triggered.
