2019 Product Update Overview

As the end of 2019 quickly approaches, we wanted to take some time to reflect on the major improvements LogicGate made for you this year.

• Significant improvements to Reporting and Analytics capabilities including the ability to build Visual Reports from Table Reports, drill down into Visual Report data for more granular analyses, and a fresh more intuitive look for Status reports.

• You can now restrict build access permissions for each Application to individual users in your account, allowing you to expand access to build Applications across your organization

• Added document versioning capabilities for attachment fields

• Added Calculation Labels feature, allowing you to give your end-users visual insights into risk scores

• New Jobs capabilities including automated updating Date Fields

• Platform-wide user experience improvements including more intuitive buttons and labels

Reporting and Analytics Highlights

Build Visual Reports from Table Reports

Unlock more insights and create better views of your data by using Table Reports as datasets for your Visual Reports. With this feature, you can now pass data from a filtered Table Report with data from many workflows into Visual Reports, allowing you to build better Dashboards.  If you would like more information on how to use this feature reference our Using Table Reports to Filter and Link Workflows for Visual Reports article.

Drill down into Visual Report data

You can now simply click on any segment of a Visual Report to view the underlying records. This update allows your users to visually explore key records on a chart and take action on your data. 

Workflow Canvas Access Controls

We are excited to announce that you can now restrict build access permissions for each Application to individual users in your account! By default, all users with access to Build will have the ability to modify any Application. 

To enable further access controls, you can select specific users to have access to modify or view an Application. This level of granularity is valuable when you have multiple functional teams or departments managing Applications within one LogicGate environment.

Document Management

Attachment fields now include built-in document versioning.

Also, Attachments fields now give you the option to choose whether you would like your end-users to be able to upload multiple versions of an attachment. When versions are enabled, version numbers will also display on your table reports.

Fields Highlights

Categorize Calculation Results with Labels

Transform your calculation fields into categorical labels to give your end-users immediate insights using the new Label Ranges feature. Label Ranges can be set on a risk score calculation, for example, by setting numerical thresholds for “High”, “Moderate”, or “Low” risk. This can then display to your end-users with custom text and colors you choose. Learn more about enabling labels for calculation fields here. 

Enhanced Date Picker

Lastly, we’ve updated the user interface for date pickers in records to allow for a wider variety of date formats in records. The new date picker will also auto-correct any mistyped dates, reducing the number of possible validation errors in your end-user’s forms.

Jobs Highlights

Update a Date Field Based on a Workflow event

You can now create Jobs that automate updates to date fields based on a Trigger rule and a related Operation. 

If you are not familiar with Jobs, you'll want to start here.  

Update Types

1. Trigger Date - This type of update sets the date field using a relative time period from the date/time the trigger is executed. For example, if you have a "Moved" trigger that executes when a record moves from Step A to Step B, this type will update the date field to be X days/weeks/months after the record moves from Step A to Step B.

2. Existing Value - This type of update sets the date field using a relative time period from the date/time of the original value for the field. For example, if you have a "Moved" trigger that executes when a record moves from Step A to Step B and an existing date value of Jan. 1, 2019, this type will update the date field to be Jan. 1, 2019 + X days/weeks/months. Note: This type of update will not take any action if the date field is blank.

3. Clear Value - This type of update clears the existing value of a field.

Once you have setup your Operation, you can save your Job and it is ready to automate your date updates!

User Experience Highlights

Text, Label and Object name updates:

1. The submission button on a record has been updated to display “Submit” rather than “Complete”. We received feedback that users thought “Complete” meant they had no more action to take; this change should help to indicate that the user must click the button to submit the record.

2. The Status labels in reports have been updated to more accurately reflect the status of a record. Checked Out will now be Assigned and Not Started will now be Not Assigned. The In Progress and Complete statuses remain unchanged. Additionally, the colors associated with each status have been adjusted to better match their label.

3. Text fields now appear in tables as collapsed when they contain a large amount of text and can optionally be expanded by hovering over the field

4. Earlier this year, we asked you what LogicGate objects you wanted us to rename. Based on your feedback, you will notice that Nodes are now referred to as Steps, Assignments and Objects are referred to as Records, and a field’s Proposition is referred to as a Label.
