How to Copy an Existing Application to make edits without affecting current use of the Application
Copying an Application allows you to make changes and test changes without affecting the current build or impacting users who are utilizing the Application. There are two ways to copy an Application:
1. Build > Applications Screen - Click the Gear icon to the right of the Application name you would like to copy, then click Copy.
2. Application Canvas - In the top right of the Application Canvas, expand the side panel menu if it is not already open, then click Duplicate.
The "Confirm Copy" modal will appear. In this modal, you can rename any of the objects in the Application by clicking the Pencil icon to the right of the name and typing in the new name. By default, each object in the copied Application will have a " (Copy)" added to its original name.
You can also choose not to include specific object by unchecking the checkboxes to the left of the object.
Once you have made the changes you would like, click Copy Application to copy the Application and exit the pop up modal.
A copied Application will include the following items by default:
-
Workflows, Steps and Paths in the Application. Not included: Workflow links and Relationship Reports pointing to Workflows in other Applications. Conditions that reference a specific User in the condition value.
-
Jobs associated with this Application (as specified). Not included: Jobs with message recipients or an operations assignee that points to a specific User or Operations that points to a specific Record.
-
Visual Reports and Dashboards associated with this Application. Not included: Visual Reports on Dashboards that are from other Applications.
-
Table Reports that only contain data from the Application being copied (as specified). Not included: Filters that point to specific Users
-
Permission Sets associated with the Application (as specified).
-
Layouts associated with the Application.
Note: Applications containing JIRA workflows cannot be copied
If your Application includes a JIRA workflow, you must contact LogicGate Support for assistance with copying this application.
You may choose remove the JIRA workflow, however this will permanently impact your data. The data from your JIRA workflow will not be restored even if you recreate it later.
