Control Build Access for Applications

How to restrict the number of users who are able to Build Risk Cloud Applications

The Build section of your platform houses the configuration settings (Workflows, Fields, Jobs, etc.) for all of your Risk Cloud Applications.

With Risk Cloud's Build Access controls, you can granularly set who can edit and/or view the configurations settings for each Application. 

This article describes how you can control which users can view and modify the configuration settings for each of your Applications.

Adding a Builder

Build access is given through Module Entitlements associated with Roles. To allow a user to access the Build module, associate them with a Role that has been given the Build or Admin All Module Entitlement. Check out Module Entitlements for Roles for more information.

Managing Build Access for specific Applications

When you create a new Application, by default all users with the Build Module Entitlement will be able to view and modify the Application. However, you can choose to restrict access to your Application to a smaller, select group of users. To do so:

1. Navigate to the Application Canvas of the Application you want to restrict and click the gear icon at the top right. Click on  Build Access. 

2. Check Restrict Build Access to this Application. By default, your user will be added to the list of users that now have access to view and build your Application.

3. Search for users through the search bar. When a user is selected, you can toggle between read-only and edit access. Users with read-only access will be able to view Application configurations but will not be able to modify them. 

4. Click Save Build Permissions. 

Once you have enabled restrictions to build your Application, only the list of users that you have specified will have access to view and modify your Application configurations, Jobs, and Layouts. All users that have access to modify your Application will also be able to add and remove other users to this list.

Additionally, all users with the Admin All Module Entitlement will be considered 'System Administrators'  and automatically have access to Build in all Applications.

Continued Permissions Management

Permissions to Application Build configurations can also be managed by navigating to the Application Build Access tab under Build > Access. To view an Application under the Application Build Access tab, a user must have Build access to the Application or Admin All access.
