The Workflow Type property is used to identify whether a workflow is applicable for particular features in Risk Cloud. Currently, there are two Workflow Types:
- Standard: A regular Risk Cloud workflow. Most workflows are Standard workflows.
- Control Framework: A repository workflow which stores Control records: records outlining processes, policies, or practices to mitigate risk. This includes custom Internal Control sets. This does NOT include workflows used for related activities including Control Evaluations, Evidence Requests, or Audits.
View and Update Workflow Types
The Workflow Type can be viewed and updated by users with Build entitlement. On the Application Build canvas, click the gear icon for a workflow and select Advanced from the menu. The Workflow Type can be toggled between Standard workflow and Control Framework.
Control Frameworks
Workflows with a Workflow Type of “Control Framework” will appear on the Controls page, assuming there is at least one record in the workflow. Read more about Control Frameworks.
A Control Framework can also be designated as a Central Framework. A Central Framework is a “framework of frameworks”, helping you map cybersecurity and privacy controls across multiple frameworks. Using a Central Framework (like the SCF) enables your organization to use the Gap Analysis feature to compare frameworks.
