What is a Workflow Type?
The Workflow Type property is used to identify whether a workflow is applicable for particular features in Risk Cloud. Currently, there are two Workflow Types:
- Standard: A regular Risk Cloud workflow. Most workflows are Standard workflows.
- Control Framework: A repository workflow which stores Control records: records outlining processes, policies, or practices to mitigate risk. This includes custom Internal Control sets. This does NOT include workflows used for related activities including Control Evaluations, Evidence Requests, or Audits.
Where can I see the Workflow Type for a workflow?
Workflow Type is visible to users with Build entitlement. On the Application Build canvas, click the gear icon for a workflow and select the Advanced tab. The Workflow Type will appear in read-only mode as a Standard workflow or Control Framework, depending on the type of workflow selected.

How do I change the Workflow Type for a workflow?
The Workflow Type can only be edited by LogicGate users. If you feel that a workflow is incorrectly categorized, please reach out to your LogicGate Account Team to correct it.
What is the Workflow Type used for?
The Workflow Type is not currently used for any active features. Upcoming Controls Compliance features will use Control Framework workflows, including a Control Framework page and a Control Gap Analysis tool.
